Associate Professor Irwin Mohan

Associate Professor Irwin Mohan’s vascular surgery training was carried out at major Vascular Units in the United Kingdom, including St Mary’s Hospital, London; Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, with further training in Endovascular techniques at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney.

He was appointed as Consultant Vascular Surgeon at the Manchester Royal Infirmary in 2002 and relocated to Australia in 2006 and started practice as a Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon.

During his training and practice as a surgeon, he has performed all variety of complex vascular procedures, and is competent in the OPEN and ENDOVASCULAR management of elective, emergency, and complex aneurysms and vascular diseases.

He has performed clinical and laboratory research, and has published assessments influential to the development of modern endovascular interventional practice, for aneurysmal disease.

A/Prof Irwin Mohan teaches academic and practical skills including open surgical and endovascular technique on the Vascular Surgical Skills Course for the Australia and New Zealand Society of Vascular Surgery section of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.He has been involved with teaching and examining medical students at University of Sydney, Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, for the Clinical FRACS examinations and European Board of Surgical Qualifications in Vascular Surgery, for consultant certification and practice of Vascular Surgery for the European Union and Eastern Europe.

A/Professor Irwin Mohan is fully accredited at the Mater Hospital in Sydney, Norwest Private Hospital, Macquarie University Hospital, and Sydney Adventist Hospital. He holds public appointment at Westmead Hospital.
